Garage Floor Tiles: For Making A Garage More Than Just A Garage
For many people, the garage is so much more than just a place to park cars or store old Christmas decorations. It's a workshop, a retreat, a place to plan projects and meet with friends, and so much more. When a garage is more than just a garage, it's nice to have it look like something other than a bare room with a cement floor. How you do this is up to you, but one really easy and fun way to do this is with garage floor tiles. Now when you think tiles, you probably think of the ceramic or porcelain ones found in bathrooms. There are many other varieties than these, including vinyl garage floor tiles. Generally, these tiles are interlocking, and can be installed in just a few hours. They give a garage an instant facelift, and are available in many different colors and styles, from race day black and white diamonds, to molded floor tiles with specific brand logos. You can even get interlocking drainage floor tiles from brands like Easy Tile. Not only do vinyl floor tiles in the garage add some styles, but they have other advantages as well. They catch oil, antifreeze, gasoline and anything else that might drip from the car to the floor, keeping these things from staining the concrete underneath. They hide cracks and stains that might already exist, and provide a softer surface than concrete for when you are laying underneath a car. Generally, tiles are a do it yourself project. Assuming they are interlocking, all you have to do is align the loops with the pegs on each tile and press down firmly. You also have the option of choosing non interlocking rubber or vinyl tiles, and putting them down with epoxy. What you choose depends on your individual preferences. Not only are these tiles great for garages, they can be used other places just as easily. Garage floor tiles may be designed for the garage, but they also provide a great flooring surface for children's play rooms. Just because they are designed for the garage doesn't mean that is the only place they can or should go! |
