When you think about it, what is the one place of your home that is constantly getting the worst of the wear and tear that you and your family dish out on a regular basis?  Nope, not the foyer.  It's the poor old garage floor!  Of course, it is usually cement after all, but that doesn't mean that years of regularly dealing with the elements and normal, everyday abuse won't wear it down, and for those of you concerned with wanting to keep it in prime condition, there are a number of garage floor covering options that you can find to do just that and more.

Of course, there a number of types that can be used, the most popular these days being a 2 part epoxy painting kits that can be found at any hardware store, and are great for do-it-yourself projects that will quickly and easily change the look and feel of their garage.  Not to mention the fact that cleaning the floor is a breeze.  However, it should be noted that prepping the floor properly is required, so it might require a bit of homework to be done beforehand.  On top of that, you can get treatments that can even make your garage floor covering waterproof, which greatly helps improve durability.   One brand to check out is Behr, which has received some good reviews

For those looking for something different overall for their garage floor covering, then perhaps finding easy tile that can be used.  There are a couple of different types that can be used, from flexi-PVC tiles, to the extremely easy to install vinyl flooring that interlocks.  Both of these options are valued because they can be installed on your own, and the PVC option is really favored by those still needing a floor that can withstand a great deal of pressure.

Lastly, while this isn't really the last option for your garage floor covering, it is by far, the easiest: garage floor mats.  Obviously, these mats don't require you to do any patching up of the concrete, or prep work, that is required with pretty much any of the other types of coverings, which is great for folks that want a simple way to help protect the floor from any kind of leaks or spills where their vehicle sits.

As you can see, there are a number of options out there for you to be able to use, from the super simple mats, to painting and treating, to completely overhauling the look of the whole garage by adding tiles.  Whatever garage floor covering works best for you, you can do it yourself, and best of all, you can protect the original cement so that it lasts for many more years to come.
